Care & Maintenance

UnderFit’s premium undershirts are already built to last. But poor cleaning and storing habits can send your undershirts to an early retirement. Use these 3 simple steps to keep your UnderFits in prime condition.

1. Properly wash your undershirts

First of all, unlike many other types of apparel products that are made with toxic solvents and chemicals, there is no need to wash your UnderFit undershirts before wearing them – unless that is your preference, of course.

We mill and manufacture our undershirts with no toxins or damaging chemicals, and only use the cleanest, highest quality materials.

  • Be sure to always wash your UnderFit undershirts in cold water and on gentle cycle.
  • Use a mild detergent to avoid damaging or wearing away the fabric.
  • Turn your undershirts inside out to ensure that sweat stains are coming in as close a contact with the detergent as possible.
  • Avoid bleach, because it will damage the material. Fabric softener is not necessary since our undershirts are already super soft!
  • You can wash your white undershirts with your other white clothes but it’s best to wash them separately.

2. Dry properly – use hangers or tumble dry on low heat

When possible, let your UnderFit undershirts dry on hangers in order to help prevent wrinkles and preserve the color.

However, if you don’t want to hang drying your undershirts, you can use a dryer – be sure to choose the low heat and low tumble option.

3. Avoid yellow stains

The ProModal® fabric used in UnderFit undershirts is already sweat and odor resistant. But if you are still struggling with those persistent yellow armpit stains, take a closer look at your deodorant.

Many antiperspirants contain the chemical, Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine. This chemical reacts with moisture and creates yellow stains.

Look for a deodorant that does not contain this chemical and both you and your UnderFit will be colorfast for many wears and wash cycles.
